The view

When Maldives actually opens up

The Maldives runs on a single dry-and-wet calendar. November through April is the dry window — the headline season, with Christmas and New Year at peak (book a year out) and Chinese New Year close behind. February and March are the genuine sweet spot — driest weather, calmest seas, full villa availability. May through October is the southwest monsoon — daily afternoon storms, surf chop on the western atolls, and rates 30–50% off if you don't mind the rhythm. November and late April are the underrated transition weeks.
